Pandora is a freelance diesel outline loco. She is built from Plasticard on an Essel Engineering chassis, and runs from 7.5V batteries held in the cab.
Radio control is using the cheapest 27MHz set available from my local model shop which came with transmitter, receiver and servos (which are still in the box!). A model car speed controller is also used, but is not that successful so I will need to replace it either with a "home brew" or a commercial unit designed for model loco use.
Construction is fairly lightweight and simplistic - this is my first scratch-built loco. The bonnet and roof just lift off to give access to batteries and radio gear for servicing. Some lead weights had to be added to allow her to pull any load greater than a few Binnie hoppers!
