This loco was built to order of the Ministry of Supply during WWII but was never used until it was sold as surplus in the 1960s. It was purchased by a firm of contractors in the North West of England but saw little if any use. It eventually passed to the MRT via another, now defunct, group in 1977.

Current Status: Operational
